Columbia University junior Yunseo Chung sued U.S. President Donald Trump and other top officials, challenging “the government’s shocking overreach in seeking to deport a college student… who is a lawful permanent resident of this country, because of her protected speech.”
You know what’s funny, I don’t think Trumpie can claim presidential immunity on this, because it’s not a result of direct order.
The only issue I see that her attorneys are filing in Federal Court instead of State, so Trump is more protected that way. Not that it matters, he would just get a zero dollar fine without jail time and a warning to never do it again.
Well Trump is protected on any of his “official acts” as president, which apparently means anything done while being president
So he’s not on the hook personally, but that doesn’t mean you can’t sue the government for his actions
