Nintendon’t.

Anyway, do you agree?

Disagree. The article is essentially about what they don’t like about base F-Zero. Personally? I’m 22 so I only played it on emulators, but SNES F-Zero is one of my favorite racing games and OG SNES Mario Kart is total ass. It sounds like this person just wanted Mario Kart 99, but I think that’d be way too much going on to be fun with 99 other people. This is disliking something over expectations for something that doesn’t exist, and I don’t think the expectations for Mario Kart 99 are even worth meeting. Can you imagine how annoying 100 people having power ups at once would be?

If you like F-Zero, you’ll love F-Zero 99. If you don’t like F-Zero, play one of the hundreds of arcade racing games that has had online multiplayer built in or modded in for the past 20 years.

Sounds like the writer just doesn’t like Fzero and won’t say it, hasn’t the health/boost mechanic always been the selling point? It sounds hilariously zoomer to complain “I hit the go fast button and explode, why can’t I go fast always, game?” The attention span problem is getting out of hand.

This might sound stupid but anything Vinny Vinesauce or Northernlion plays more than once might be fun to play. At least that is true with me. This person just does not like F-Zero.

It’s pretty cool. Unfortunately, I don’t think they’ll make a new F-Zero game and interest in this will probably drop off in the near future. This reviewer seems too hung up about it not being Mario Kart that I think he’s just not too into racing games.

That kind of focus on more conservative, thoughtful play can work in a racing game like Gran Turismo, which is as much about the strategy of racing as actual reflexes. But unless we’re missing something massive, the gameplay in F-Zero 99 simply isn’t anywhere deep enough to support that kind of mental engagement.

Yeah, I have to agree here. SNES F-Zero is a really shallow game.
