Another article about a town in Kansas that bought their own grocery store. It seems to have had success and motivated town residents to open up other stores and create programs. It sounds like it is also funded as a utility, so a monthly bill charged to the residents and they can shop for what the need.

Saaaame, crossing my fingers that: 1. They actually act on it and get it running and 2. that it’s successful, of course. With the ridiculous inflation in the past year or so this would be such a relief to SO MANY people. And really there is nothing like being able to access fresh produce. Obviously it’s very important for health reasons, but food is really important to me as a treat and it just improves my quality of life so much to eat fresh stuff.
