Curated by /u/Evilbred:
Stages is popular for underage/just of age
Ale house is popular with slightly older crowd, and has some decent concerts.
The Spot is good for skeets and drug addicts
The Mansion is a decent college age bar with some good live music.
Barcadia is popular with the more geeky crowd.
Musiiki is popular with the artsy/hipster music people.
Toucan is a classic Irish Pub with some decent live music
Tir Nan Nog is like what you’d expect from a chain company’s take on an Irish pub.
The Merchant is a bar/restaurant that has decent live music, but I feel it’s more of a late 20s to early 40s age.
There’s some decent wine bars, like Tango Neuevo, Atomica, and Heist (but they’re more like Restaurants)
Then there’s places like Caesar Co, which has good caesars and bad food, something in the water which has decent beer (but clearly worse than the old Stone City Ales) and bad food.
Whiskey and Rose is a decent whiskey bar.
Tommy’s is like a cool 1950s diner with a sketchy greaser vibe.
Hey Darlin’ is a cool 1950s diner with a more wholesome Rosey-The-Riveter vibe.
Blue Martini is for older people who want a nightclub.
Royal Tavern 2.0 for all intents and purposes as a minimum permitted age of 50.
and a few Evilbred missed:
Red House is loud and busy but was a great regular after work spot when I used to work downtown
Daft brews their own stuff and never disappoints, has fun events every week like trivia and drag shows
Raxx and the Grizzly Grill are good for pool, but I try to avoid mixed drinks at the Grizz, their soda lines always taste moldy. Raxx is great for cheap food like wing night
Probably a few more too I can’t think of
