I have read this only now and don’t care enough about celebrities to delve deeper than this article.

Nothing in there sounds problematic to me. Dude expressed his boundaries (as in, non negotiable dealbreakers) and that’s okay. Of course it is gonna sound like an ultimatum if it is an ultimatum, why is that not okay? Why can a person not say “stop doing this or we can’t be together any more”? If it were something else than posting bikini pictures, for example an onlyfans account, is that enough to be a dealbreaker?

I wouldn’t want such a person as a partner myself either, regardless of how insignificant or petty the boundary is it should be respected and if that isn’t possible, move on.

I think if you couple the controlling behavior with the fact that he is at least 10 years older than her and more powerful in terms of career and influence you can begin to put together a picture of why his attitude is problematic.

I’m confused. The relationship is legal, she’s seemingly free to leave.

This publicizing of personal communications that don’t seem to involve anything more than him being a self-absorbed fuckface who, like everyone in Hollywood, wants what he wants, is arguably grosser than anything he’s said to have done.

She’s free to tell her friends what he’s like, but dropping this kind of shit on Instagram to the entire world is foul.

How is it confusing? You don’t think people should be held accountable for their actions? Why didn’t he conduct himself in a way that didn’t leave him in this position? Why is it her fault for speaking out and not his for acting in a way that allows this to even be happening?

It’s one thing to be held accountable for being a selfish fuckface; it’s another to have your most private communications broadcast to the world.

The fact that anyone thinks the scale of this accountability or retribution is appropriate is disturbing. This whole thing is dystopian.

Of course he should be held accountable, but I still don’t see how any of this is business of the public.

This is very tame and average relationship drama, most people act immature or selfish or otherwise not in the most text book kind of way when emotions are involved. He’s not beating her or gaslighting her or whatever other actual violence he could be inflicting on her, he just doesn’t want her to do bikini pics for the public while she is his partner.

Is he doing it in the most mature and respectable way? Possibly not. Is that even news worthy? Hell no
