I see there’s been no action in this sub for a while so I’m proposing any subscribers introduce themselves here and tell us why you enjoy the job…or if you don’t then why not.

For me working in community is very rewarding and I also believe that its better for clients to safely stay in the familiar setting of their home then that of a facility.

    Hey! I made this sub way back before the diaspora to try and encourage people to migrate at that time. (Back before new subs almost crashed lemmy and sh.itjust.works didn’t even exist). Now that fedi is getting bigger I might make one just for nurses, but for now I’m glad to see all of you!

    I’m an inpatient psychiatric nurse who got into the field after having several inpatient hospitalizations myself. While I know I’ve gotta do a bunch of really uncomfortable things to keep my patients safe, I try to approach it as someone who has needed those interventions myself, so I can hopefully approach from a more constructive perspective.
