I do not think escalating straight to violence is necessary and that we possess the creativity to modify tactics instead of abandoning principles. We should leave the most damaging options for the last resort.

It can be picking out recyclables from trash, it can be pulling out blockages from sewers, it can be scrubbing individual seashells of spilled crude oil. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, in a jail. There are many more ethical and productive methods than slow painful deaths, and a lot of unpleasant work that needs to be done by somebody.
