I see the rules currently state “Nothing from realistic models trying to generate real people.”

To verify I understand this correctly, does this mean realistic imagery is OK as long as it does not mimic the likeness of a real person (aka deepfakes)?

For example, a photo-realistic image of a body builder is OK, but a photo-realistic image of Arnold Schwarzenegger is not?

It would be something that I’d have to heavily advise against, especially right now. I feel there are probably places that are better suited for this sort of content, with the moderation manpower to properly deal with it. The issue we’d have is that this sort of community would require very strict, heavy moderation and could open up a lot of potential work that we frankly wouldn’t want to deal with.

The mods of such a community would have to be really diligent about not letting anything illegal/illicit slip through. This isn’t even mentioning various other issues which could pop up for us if we started hosting such a community.

Understood. I appreciate that you didn’t give a hard no, but I don’t want to hurt the site and fully understand the trouble a community like that could/would bring so I won’t.

It’s ironic how the tools exist to create depictions of harmful content without the real harm they depict, but in being relegated to the same spaces the more ethical yet inconvenient and imperfect option ends up irrelevant to those who don’t care about the source.
