I have some friends my age still listening to the same bands they used to 20 years ago, complaining about how music today sounds all the same. However I discover something new almost every day and I’m not kidding.

It’s true that some of my discoveries are bands from decades before I was born, so they can’t be considered new, although they are new to me if that makes sense.

What about you? Still listening to the same tunes you used to listen to when you were a teenager?

I’m in the same space lately! Being a teen/young adult in the 90s, that’s really where my heart lies. But at the same time, 30 years on, I don’t always want to hear the same 100 songs I’ve been hearing forever. So I started digging into bands I hadn’t listened to at the time.

There was a YouTube Music playlist that I don’t see anymore called Unhinged Grunge that was really good and had some deep cuts among the hits. Then you dig into a song that catches your ear, which leads to this and that.

Some good stuff found on the Absolute 90s Power Pop playlist too.
