    It’s awful newspeak to say “southern Lebanon”. I’m originally from there and have family there. The entire country is less than 150 miles from tip to tip.

    It’s a way of segmenting the country to not sound bad. Israel is again bombing Lebanon. There is no country called “southern Lebanon”.

    I’ve seen this language used for years to justify bombing and occupation.

      US media seems pretty on board with Israel’s expansionist ambitions for a “greater Israel”. So messed up.

      I don’t know man. I get this is a spicy issue right now, as it should be, but even small cities use cardinal direction descriptors.

      I’m sure what you’re talking about is a very real problem and I’ve got no experience just say otherwise, but like maybe not this time?

    They just murdered another journalist, but not really because “Israel fired artillery into the area they were gathered…” sounds almost like “police officer involved in a shooting accident…”.
