Is apple doing what John Deere does? I haven’t tried any particularly advanced stuff. Some stuff like the processor I don’t really see how you’d be able to have an iphone without using apple’s lineup but maybe I’m just ignorant of what’s possible here. Like you can’t just stick an Intel/AMD into a modern Mac and you can’t stick a silicon chip into your Lenovo and expect the computers to run right, right?

You talked about replacement screens though. And even if you switch parts between identical Apple products they often won’t work.
I don’t think they have firmware/hardware ID for glass but if they do, that’s pretty ridiculous
You usually change the whole display assembly
