Romania's president Klaus Iohannis reiterated that Austria's arguments for blocking the accession of Romania and Bulgaria to the Schengen area do not hold water since it has accepted Croatia as a member of the border-free zone. President Iohannis also said he is not so sure about suing Austria...
Austria is not applying Schengen in some of its borders currently, therefore should not have the right of veto. Instead it should be questioned if Austria should be allowed to continue in Schengen considering that it’s the number 1 country closing Schengen borders on a regular basis.
well, everyone kinda is unfortunatly and Germany has re-introduced border controls against Austria as far back as 2015. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-1c3tIZrdns
Furthermore last year we had 100 000 migrants here many of which weren’t registered which should be impossible due to Austria being surrounded by Schengen members.

So claiming Schengen is working great as it is and Austria is vetoing for no good reason is wrong.
That being said the way my government went about this was extremly unprofessional. First letting in Croatia anyway was plain hypocritical. Secondly I really would like my government to put forward a clear objective list of criteria we want to have met instead of making statements like “We have too many migrants - so no!”.
