He’s been indicted twice. Found liable for sexual abuse. And he’s viewed unfavorably by about a third of his party. But six months before Republicans begin to choose their next presidential nominee, former President Donald Trump remains the race’s dominant front-runner.

Yet they remain Republican. If you’re in a voluntary club with members that want to be in a club led by a psychopath, and you remain in the club while a psychopath leads- turns out you’re one of the members that wanted to be in a club led by a psychopath too.

“The moon and the stars will need to be aligned for Trump to be defeated,” he said. “And it will be done by the candidate that supports the Trump agenda but opposes the lack of success.”

Cool so they don’t care about how fascist their policies are, they just want someone who’s better at implementing them. Great.

      Same as it ever was.

This has honestly been something that progressives and moderates have been worried about since Day 1. Trump is dangerous because he erodes the political and social norms around the democratic process in the US. Now that he’s blazed the trail, if someone smarter with the same racist and regressive policies reaches to power, we’re totally boned. Especially with the courts packed with Republican-nominated hacks and the state governments in large part controlled by R’s due to the gerrymandered districts (and to a lesser extent, the House, too).

I have family members who vote with their bank accounts and for them it’s beneficial to keep electing Rs. It’s disgusting.

Goes to show how out of touch conservatives are that they’d rather have a twice impeached sexual predator that’s a traitor to his country serve another four years at the helm instead of anyone on the (D) ticket.

And they think they’re being patriotic. THAT is what I’ll never understand.

May be? Already is. He’s the forerunner for the Republican Party.
