How could you possibly think it doesn’t matter lmao Most distros are already Wayland and have been for a while.

This isn’t an announcement they’re moving to Wayland, Wayland has been the default for years. It’s not irrelevant. If you’re not using Wayland, you’re using X11. Keep up.
