So it looks like I’ve become the moderator and owner of /m/manga and I’m glad to take charge here to help keep it clean and provide moderation needs for manga fans across the Fediverse/Threadiverse.
For now, the plan is to make sure to keep the community clean and respond to as many requests as possible to help foster a community around all manga. This includes having a dedicated place to discuss the latest release of a certain series, having discussions around classic manga moments or publications, and giving or seeking recommendations from other users.
As a result of the magazine hands-change process, the rules have been updated. Please take the time to read them. They’re pretty relaxed in my opinion as I don’t want to make it difficult to maintain. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the rules, please talk about them here in the comments or create a thread with the Meta
badge. Likewise, any topic that intends to talk about the community itself should be tagged with Meta
as it will make seeing these types of posts easier.
Other points of interest:
- I’m willing to let other users help moderate the community if they wish to submit a moderation request to the magazine. I don’t have infinite time obviously, so any distribution of workload here would be beneficial for all of us.
- I’m OK with the idea of having bots submit discussion threads that are automated on release, just let me know and make sure that whatever the bots do subscribe to Kbin’s policy around bots or automation please.
- In terms of manga I’m currently reading, it’s mostly Jojolands and the occasional Houseki no Kuni release. Since the latter has had a spotty release cycle lately, I’ve mostly been catching up on some classics such as Claymore and Berserk.
Lastly, any other suggestions you might have for the manga community, leave them in the comments below!
