1 year in I’m at 7k kills. I’m loaded with loot and boredom set in. I load up my scout vehicle and head down the road. I decided to go to the country club for furnishings. I light a campfire to warm up as the heater is bust. I clear flamables nearby and toss them into the fire so its there when I go back. I go in stealth, I’m slaying countless zombies. I didn’t expect so many zombies. I take a wrong turn. I try to hop the fence but my pack is too heavy. The attempt puts me at the first moodle. Shit. I turn back and run to the forest. There’s so much more here than I expected. No rest means that I start dropping a trail of items. I head to my car. Second exhaustion moodle and tiredness moodle. I see fire. Fire everywhere. Wtf? Burning zombies shuffle towards me. I try the fence after dropping everything. I go back to my camp and there’s black squares running off from my campfire. I’m barely shuffling and meekly shoving zombies when I get to my car. I can’t get in with them on me. I just barely juke them to the other side. I’m heading to the door and a zombie crawls out from under the car and lacerates my foot. I get in and speed off.
After tending my wounds and resting at my base I get the queasy moodle.
Jesus that’s intense rip your 1 year play through at that point I would give myself a free pass
4 months in, 7k kills (very high pop, extremely low loot), 100 with a gun, the rest with the crowbar and machete.
Drove to the LV mall for some guns and ammo, planning for a big purge. I ninja my way in the back. With so many Z’s around, sneaking and light-footed go up like crazy while crouching. I managed to kill about 600 Zs with my crowbar and slept in the back of the truck (RV interior) for a couple of days, just to reach the back of the gun store.
When I thought I was clear, I got sneaked on by one from the back, got bit.
Started a new game, this time with insane pop, added more mods :) (360 at this point).
Sounds badass
I really like this game. I have about 1100 hours already. I don’t think I am skilled at it either, I play around with the sandbox settings a lot and try to make it as enjoyable as I can. That’s the beauty of it, you can customize it as much as you want. Make it your game. And mods, oh boy…
In my newest time period…
Played on Insane zombie amount (and with lots of mods).
The helicopter event came in an OK timing. I had enough food to last for even a longer time. Except that when I heard a window bust broken, I decided to flee the place.
I think that was a mistake. Instead of checking, was there only one zombie going in, I ended up running quite far away on the train tracks of Muldraug (spelled correctly?).Not much water left, I slowly started pushing the zombs back towards my base. I used the planks of the tall wooden fences broken down by them and a mod to turn them into branches and then spears. I destroyed soooo many spears! But I also destroyed lots of zombies!
Carried two sacks - one of wood and other of items with me, always dropping them when I saw more zombies (fighting + overencumberance = no-no). I slept maybe 3-6 times under a tree during daytime (night-owl personality) and ended up fighting in the dark for the most of the time.
I ran out of water at some point. A little panicky about it, I left the tracks, did a risky run to the nearest house with maybe 200+ zombies following me, got two bottles filled with water and ran back, kept pushing…I managed to get to the base when I got bit.
Soon after I added more mods and felt like I want to create a new save for their effects so I eventually deleted this save. But it was a fun ride!
The game reminded me after months of not playing that when you see 4+ zombies, you rather run away than start smacking them in the head with a frying pan. And that fences are a bit over-powered with less than ten zombies. And that with a spear you can deal with more zombies at a time (+with a decent level in…what was it called…nimble?).Jesus sounds that sounds intense must have insane luck to be able to sleep under trees and stuff
New player and on my 8th play through. So far 3 months in and trying to adjust to the changing weather? It’s been super rainy, windy, and dark… so getting ready to try and hunker down for the cold future heading my way lol.
Really wish I had discovered this game sooner. It’s been a blast!
I had one play through on builder where I survived winter. Currently back at it on apocalypse mode.
I’ve survived 200 kills and about 14 days as my best one. I’m currently on about 90 kills in 3 days. Now I’m acquainted, I might start from day 1 and see if I can keep my dude alive.
How about yourself?
I like to go for foraging playthroughs where I’ll spawn in the forest
using mods
and see how long I can surviveNice. That sounds rough. You get enough food? Where do you sleep?
What mods help with that?
Getting enough food haha no I’ve gotten 10 days into my playthrough and my guys gone from the obese trait to the overweight trait I’m trying supplement foraged goods with fished and trapped goods aswell
For mods I mainly use craft helper and cabin spawns I spawned in the cabin in the middle of nowhere so I’m no where near civilisation
I’m considering making a trek downwards to doe valley but with zombies on insane and a lack of resources I’ll probably perish
