This show just came to an end and it’s got to be one of the worst shows I’ve ever seen, but somehow always entertaining. Preferable if the show has a large amount of viewers to trash it and laugh at it.
Suits. It’s insanely unrealistic, full of nonsense drama for no reason, and just has some of the most insane bullshit. But God damn was it a fun show to watch.
I have a “friend” on facebook who completely idolizes Harvey. Like posts quotes and often with a picture of the character.
Do they work in the legal profession?
They do not, fortunately.
TWD main show got pretty terrible too. It’s sad because FTWD definitely had some good moments too and at a certain point it even looked like it improved a bit again. But now it feels just like some trash tier zombie show.
- Falling Skies. A science fiction series executive produced by Steven Spielberg about a ragtag group of survivors after an alien invasion.
- The Strain. Sci-fi/horror show created by Guillermo del Toro. About vampires; think modern retelling of Dracula. And nukes are involved at some point.
Seconding Falling Skies here. Entertainingly bad. Think Red Dawn but with aliens instead of Russians.
Naah, it wasn’t that bad. I like to imagine every alien army has a boss that hands out insta-wins when they die. Like Independence Day. Or Independence Day 2.
Yeah it’s like Iraq. When Saddam was killed they won!
The strain gets really rough around the last two seasons.
It gets rough right from the first episode. This asshole is the protagonist I’m supposed to be cheering for?
I never watched past ep 1, LOL
The soundtrack by Ramin Djawadi was good though, if I recall
NBC has a show called “The Nightly News”, and from 2017-2021 the writing was completely insane and the main characters were basically cartoonish villains, but it was hard not to watch. There were tons of other viewers and an ungodly number of fan sites online to discuss the various sub-plots and characters.
By early 2020, one of the 2019 sub-plots went completely viral and millions of people didn’t even leave their houses.
In late 2020, one of the main characters was voted off the show and it became a whole “thing”. The writers, ultimately, didn’t really remove the character—just minimized him to a series of courtroom B-stories, and the occasional fan-service appearance.
The show is still on, but I think it must have different show runners these days.
We found the crazy MAGA person here
They literally called Trump a cartoonish villain lol.
Sounded like they were saying the anchors were.
That was my impression too but after rereading it, I wonder if it’s satire taking a dig at our insane reality in the US.
I thought that initially as well (actually I thought it was the shitty Tina fey news spoof for a second, I won’t lie), but they call trump a character later
Doesn’t seem crazy or MAGA to me at all.
I wonder if foundation would qualify? If you were a fan of the books and expecting something remotely similar you’d be wildly disappointed. But the visuals in the show are really good and one of the storylines (Not even remotely found in the book) is really entertaining with one of the actors (Lee Pace) putting on an absolute clinic.
Halo If you’re looking for pure shit
Never read the books. Enjoying the show. Lee Pace is a gem.
I’ll never understand how they managed to fuck up Halo so bad.
I remember reading that the creators were not interested in playing the games at all, but I kind of get the feeling that they had pure distain for the source material and were actively trying to ruin it as much as possible. How many god damn times did Master chief get hit in the head after taking off his helmet in tactical situations?
I heard it was supposed to be a Mass Effect show, but they couldn’t get the rights, so they shoehorned Halo into the same story
I didn’t read the books and maybe I’m too starved for decent space / sci-fi shows but I still enjoy Foundation.
Haven’t read the books yet but love the show. Which part of the emperor plot isn’t in the book or are you saying there was no dynasty in the books?
I enjoyed the show also, but it’s sort of like a fan fiction set in the first couple chapters of the book? The book quickly moves from generation to generation, crisis to crisis and leaves empire and these characters far behind
Ahhh okay, I get it I think but not gonna spoil for anyone else reading lol.
In my opinion, no show has ever done WTF as well as ‘The Venture Brothers.’
Take all the tropes you know and love and punch them in the ovaries.
Arrow.
With the exception of S4. That was just Dawson’s creek.
Most CW shows for sure
I’m almost 40 and the CW had the same shit back when I was a teenager with shows like Smallville. It’s crazy they’re still following the same exact formula today 20+ years later.
Definitely The Flash. The solution to EVERY problem is going faster.
I had no idea it was still going. I got about 6 episodes in and gave up.
Lmao that was when it was still kinda interesting. You couldn’t possibly imagine how bad seasons 3 to 4 (if memory serves) were if you only know the first episodes.
Weird, consensus is usually that S3 is the best. I sort of agree. Troy and the land/water rights issues made it interesting
Then the show becomes terrible around S4’s second half
Same. And if it had been a standalone zombie show that wasn’t attached to TWD it’s unlikely I’d have given it more than one or two episodes.
To be fair the early Fear seasons weren’t too bad, the only real complaint I had back then was that they barely spent any time exploring the early days of the zombie breakout. It’s like they noped out of the LA area & immediately settled into the slower story mode that mid-season TWD was already in. IMO Black Summer (a different zombie series) did the early stuff right, just about every episode in the first season was tense & they lost people most episodes, I can’t remember for sure but it seemed like most of the original cast was gone by the end of the first season alone.
But to answer your question maybe the Van Helsing series? They had a similar arc like Fear, first few seasons were amazing (probably better than Fear) but wow by the time they made it to the last season the writing was at about the same level of Fear.
Who is mowing all the lawns???
Most shows like this are decent in their first season, and that’s why they get a second. Keeping it interesting is the problem, and all the Walking Dead shows pretty much fail there.
Season 1 of Fear was just kind of okay, but had a viewership boost from the parent show. Season 2 was a significant improvement. Season 3 was actually shockingly good and made me excited for where the show was going next. Season 4 booted the showrunner, replaced them with Gimple, and destroyed all interest I had in the show. I have no idea if it’s gotten better since then, but Season 3 was the best season of both shows, and Season 4 was the worst season of both.
Oh you made me realise that it’s not just about wanting a bad show. Walking Dead World Beyond was bad, but in a not-entertaining way. Fear The Walking Dead was bad, but entertaining. I’m not sure how to describe it.
Anything Marvel.
The Dynasty reboot.
Maybe One Tree Hill?
X Files
