Me and my wife started playing Stardew Valley together with this mod installed. Highly recommend.
I didn’t know that Stardew valley can be modded. I saw a lot of good reviews but afraid to dip in as I think it will be a time sucker.
I have played rimworld and cities skylines. They really are a time sucker (especially with mods).
Now this mod has piqued my interest again.
Unfortunately you are 100% right, it’s absolutely a time sucker. There are some amazing mods for it, though :)
Thank you for the affirmation. I’ll hold back my interest till life gives me back time for extra gaming.
as an old non-modding white guy, this kinda sucks. i love stardew but im tied to this easy to use nintendo.switch
i am laazy, and its too bad this stuff isnt bundled as an official expansion. please take my money.
you people know fans would pay triple, right? you gave us the first one for practically free. just gimme a little taste
Youre basically asking for people who develop on open platforms for content on a closed platform. Buying a closed platform comes with its cons, and modding is one of the largest. (As very very few devs allow modding on console, and that list is almost essentially Bethesda, and not the Switch versions)
Wait I’m confused… You’re asking for a fan-made mod to be added to the Switch version of Stardew? 🤔
yes
thats like asking for someones fan fiction to be published under the original authors name so you can read it in the same folder on your kindle.
Its not gonna happen, for about 10 different reasons.
Hey, there IS a way it could happen. Which would be for the developer to give the direct approval and do like 90% of the publishing workload.
Which is what just hapenned to factorio and its space mod.
So basically, a really small chance.
Not gonna happen, the mods are the intellectual properties of private developers.
What if they bundled some mods for the switch and those mods contained stolen code? That would be SV’s responsibility, for no gain at all.
If you want mods, just get a steam deck; games are cheaper and run better. And it’s still an easy to use device that is handheld
Buy a computer and a controller for it if you don’t want to use mouse and keyboard. You’re old. You can spare a day or two learning something new.
Or a Deck
I just set my deck down to type this out. Lol. I usually assume someone would like to play on their TV and not a deck, even if i do 90% of my gaming on my deck anymore. You can hook the deck to the TV, but at that point you might as well get a $500 computer and a PS5 controller and have a better experience.
i am laazy,
Get a paperclip
If you’re just interested in modded Stardew, you’ve probably got a device capable of it already, or one can be gotten for quite a bit cheaper than a stream deck. Most computers can play it, the minimum requirements are extremely low, the only reason my last laptop (Chromebook specs running Windows, I’m a dumbass for buying it in the first place) couldn’t do it was not enough hard drive space. The mobile port is also excellent, it ran great on my phone and I just tried it on my Kindle tablet and apart from some minor visual artefacts it’s running well, there’s options for controller support (never tried because my controller is wired and I don’t have an adapter) and the Android version can be modded.
