I get it. The r/place pictures are comical, nothing better than seeing Spez getting bombed in pixels. But let’s be honest, all these posts showing pictures of reddit is just driving revenue to them. Every click is just you putting money in spez’s wallet. Can we please move away and stop spamming posts about r/place? It really does not help this community grow and just makes us all collectively look like a petty ex. Can we please move onto some newer or better news? Let’s move forwards not backwards.

What do you expect? This community is called Reddit. Should we be talking about Twitter here?

I think what OP is going for is that there are things to discuss about reddit that aren’t tri-hourly images of the current status of the canvas and hourly battles between those rallying to put a lemmy ad vs those encouraging disengagement in the responses.

Speaking only for myself: I’m not lost, I subscribed here because I have a vindictive streak that makes me revel in the slow downfall of reddit. Buuuut that doesn’t necessarily mean I love the slow time-lapse of their gimmick taking over my entire front page.

I’m not clicking on shit that goes to Reddit, I’m watching a dumpster catch on fire through binoculars. It’s legitimately pretty hilarious. We gotta get content somehow, and use said dumpster fire to bring new users over whereever possible.

Huh? The screenshots reduce clicks. I don’t need to go to reddit if someone else posted a ss.
