Looking forward to this! I want to play Ever Crisis because it includes story elements we can’t get anywhere else in English. However, try as I might, I just can’t get into gaming on the mobile platform.
We’ll see how the game actually plays on a more traditional platform. I’m not totally sure a simple port is appropriate, since mobile games tend to be designed around the platform in ways that don’t translate very well. e.g. touchscreen vs keyboard/controller UI, and the dreaded gachas. I only played EC a little on Android, but the core game play felt like it would be better with a controller, so I’m cautiously optimistic.
There seemed to be an awful lot of daily tasks and other obnoxious engagement drivers, though, so…eh, we’ll see.
Hopefully this gives me enough to build up a little extra hype before Rebirth comes out.
I’ve considered that before. According to a ScreenRant article from September , EC does not have controller support. Not totally sure if that’s changed since then. Square’s other mobile games I was interested in – specifically Octopath CotC and FF7 The First Soldier – did not have controller support at all when I tried, either.
