So I’m installing Kubuntu on my friend’s old laptop which has a slow hdd, so I decided to go with the minimal install option, only to notice that in the final screen, it’s actually removing a lot of packages as indicated in the progress status. Is this intentional?

I did a bit of research and you was right, the minimal kubuntu install copies everything then removes it. It is not suitable if you have only minimal hard disk. Apologies for misleading you.

I did a bit of research and you was right, the minimal kubuntu install copies everything then removes it. It is not suitable if you have only minimal hard disk space available. The normal install works the way I described. Apologies for misleading you.
