Pretty often lately it’ll happen to me that I’ll look bewildered at reality and just feel like something, even though I can’t quite tell what, is wrong. Wrong as in, things just aren’t going the way they’re supposed to. You think it’s going…fine enough, but then you’ll feel like you’re fricked. Either you messed something up or it was out of your control but either way something went horribly wrong and you can do absolutely nothing about it. So you’re there sitting waiting for the worst to occur just so you can simply accuse it to be the reason for your feeling and call it a day and forget about it. It’s that, or it’s feeling like something with reality itself feels off, almost dreamlike. Though it’s different from derealization. I’m really challenged as I lack the vocabulary to express it all well.

For someone with mental health challenges I think that’s ‘normal’. I think emotional states like dread, despair and others that don’t fit with what’s happening in front of you can be part of the symptoms. This happens to me more when I’m more stressed over a prolonged period, or other triggers generally cause my mental health to decline.

Does it go the other way too, unusual episodes of excitability, joy etc?

Last time I really felt like this, maybe a month or so later I got hit with depression, so I think it was a sort of red flag for where my mental state was headed.

I do think it’s probably a result of vitamin/nutrient deficiency (especially Vit D), lack of exercise, and dehydration.

hmmm do you drink alcohol? Gotta be something causing some sort of imbalance

Maybe even consuming too much online content and screen time? All the news you see on social media nowadays seems to be extremely intense and can mentally drain you especially in vulnerable moments like when you are first waking up/going to sleep or while “zoned out”.

I’m sure that can’t be healthy and has gotta be depleting something from all of us and negatively affecting us in some way

no, i don’t. Maybe i do consume too much online content, but i also do take breaks and try to avoid drama to the best of my abilities. I’m not entirely convinced social media is the source of my problems especially since i only use lemmy and youtube now.
