    do these scum actually buy into the whole rule of law thing? Like I would have thought that they would kind of be aware that they’re cartoonishly evil villains

      The rule of law certainly applies - to everyone but themselves. Since their morality is so clearly higher than ours, it excuses them from having to follow it. To be sure, the US Constitution is suitable for us, because without it we may become unruly and overthrow them. But they are freed from its restrictions as they have examined themselves and found that their motives are pure and intentions worthy.

      Just like evil always does.
