I‘m currently running a HP 255 G8 with: 11th-Gen i5, 16GB RAM, 500GB NVME SSD + 2TB SATA SSD, HDMI and USB-C. Its a great notebook with one flaw. I‘d love to have a USB-C port supporting Power Delivery and DisplayPort/Thunderbolt => possibility to plug in one cable and charge, connect to peripherals (boxes, mouse, keyboard) and also to 2 external monitors.

I also don‘t need that much hard drive space, RAM and CPU power as I have another desktop PC. So, I‘m looking for a new notebook with a full-functional USB-C port and sleek specs besides that. - Consider Specs like screen size etc., that I didn‘t mention as not important.

It should also be cheap (as cheap as possible of course). I thought about an Aspire 5 or a Slimbook Elemental: both <600€. Do you have some other suggestions?

It’s the standard recommendation for a cheap Linux laptop cause they are built well, good value for the price, designed with repairability in mind, and have very good Linux support.
