    He brought the case to the European Court of Human Rights, but the application was withdrawn after an out-of-court settlement with the Government was reached.

    Earlier verdicts in the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court all concluded in favour of the Government on the violation of article 3.

    So they gave him some money, told him to fuck off. Who was in charge at this prison?? any repercussions at all?

      These problems are not limited to the US. Police are corrupt throughout the world. It is basically part of the job.
