Since @[email protected] has implemented the keyword shortcode emote search, it’s now much easier to see what keywords an emote has. Reply to this thread with the emote you wish to suggest keywords for and the suggested keywords in question, and I’ll try to get around to implementing them if I think they make sense.
Generally I encourage standardisation of keywords as we’ve already seen with their classification in the emoji picker. There can also be silly keywords, but there should also be broad general ones for the emoji.
“yes” “approval” for all the different thimbs,-up/yes-chads.
“Bewilderment” “wtf am I reading?” And “what” for all the variations of and
“Threat” for the emoji that indicate me going to them, emoji like,
All animal emoji should have “animal”.
All pointing should have “point”.
All esoteric emoji should have “strange name” or just “strange” so you can find it even though the name is fucked.
All in the style of should have “classic emoji”.
“Terminally online” for emoji like and similar things that require you spend a long time online to understand.
“Iceberg” for things like
Emoji like and should all both have their respective tv-show as a keyword, and just a general keyword that is “TV”.
There should be a general tag for all the “meme” characters like it could be “rage-comic” (shoutout to the boomers on the site) or “wojack”
Politicians should have “politician” and then, preferably, their country of influence (IE would be “politician, us” and would be “politician, china”)
Every emoji I’ve contributed should be tagged with “made by the one true leftist, you should venmo them some cash (you can dm them for info it’s Egon)”
Unironically though I do think it would be cool if we started tagging emoji with who contributed it - Though of course a lot of them can no longer be remembered, and most of them is just “WhyEssEff” but still, could be cool
Terminally-Online as a tag for all the super obscure stuff is a wonderful idea
