If you’re more progressive than the president, like I am, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to make that case to him

When was that opportunity over the past four years? We were told to vote for Biden in the 2020 general so we could push him to the left. That promise never materialized.

But the way to do it is not to have him be weakened in a rematch with Donald Trump

This is some real “only protest when it has no affect” energy to it. We have the negotiating leverage here. I intend to use it. If Joe needs our votes he better fucking listen.

Are we not further left than Trump? Biden is center-right so you can’t expect him to go out and start yelling communists slogans.

I love how quickly “push him to the left” becomes “shut up and be happy because not trump.”

It is better to not have Trump, that’s the basic level of desire. The second level of desire is for a better candidate. Sometimes you have to take what you can get.

Sometimes people live in the real world and sometimes people demand utopia and won’t take something imperfect instead.

I don’t have one. Guess that means I need to shut up forever and accept the hegemony of two parties that hate me. I’m not allowed to be less than fucking ecstatic that nothing will ever change except for the worse. At least you’re happy.

Our solution was Bernie. People like you rejected that idea and voted in procorporate trash Biden in the 2020 primaries. The responsibility of finding a solution falls entirely on people who selected Biden as the candidate. Not us.
