K-9 Mail replacement?

I’ve been using K-9 for some years now. Today, some idiot (i.e. me) decided to update it through F-Droid. The new version is… horrible. It feels like MS Lookout or some such sh…thing.

Can anybody suggest a replacement that just does basic email and doesn’t have some kind of “slick” UI? Thanks.

Been using FairEmail for a few years now and it’s great, simple UI, no nonsense.

Use common sense.
No distribution of APKs from unknown sources or direct downloads. You are only allowed to share from GitHub (no direct links, repo only), Play Store, F-Droid, or Aurora Store.
No piracy. This includes hacking, cracking in-app purchases or bypassing forms of DRM. YouTube (Music) Vanced are allowed exceptions to this.
