The money is amazing. Don’t get me wrong, but there’s some stuff in there I would not have signed back in the 90s had I known. Likeness rights are for sure one. Seriously, Seth Rogan? I played myself in the old tv series and still damn well have the chops now! Like, i don’t mind the clauses related to Mario’s image, he’s really not a bad guy anyway, we’ve had our creative disagreements like all artists, but at the end of the day, he’s the star of the show and I’ve been in the biz long enough to respect that. I’ve seen what happens when you don’t defend your spotlight, look at the 2nd and 3rd Donkey Kong Country games, the producers wrote down my part because I wouldn’t take a pay cut when they needed money for stuff like hiring more animal buddies or Cranky’s now exorbitant instruction manual writing fees. I was mad at the time at Diddy, felt like he sold me out, never really talked to Dixie off set…looking back they were just kids looking for their own big break, hell I was just a kid back then…now when they hired a literal baby, that’s when things got real Harold Ramis real fast…
We’re basically under contract to make Mario look good.
Get that bag
