I feel like somebody on the sidelines watching two groups of fans of two different soccer teams beating each other senseless because they disagree on a decision by the referee.
The entirety of human experience and human condition does not fit into 2 “sides”, not even close, so it’s quite the acephalic approach to look at everything through the prism of a very specific one-dimensional line with only 2 sides.
Absolutelly, have Principles, follow those Principles and then judge things according to those Principles when they do apply.
Reducing everything of importance to “sides”, on the other hand, is not being principled, it’s being mindlessly tribalist.
