I’m super excited about Dragon’s Dogma 2, but because many games these days launch not living up to what was promised or with performance issues, and the fact that games seem to be getting more and more expensive, I’m a bit wary of getting a big game at full price at launch.

However, I’m considering reading the reviews and then getting it ASAP with this game. And trying it for the 2 hours on Steam so I can at least refund it if there are any problems with the game. The gameplay videos they released so far look pretty good. I think I’m mostly worried about performance issues.

What are you planning to do? Are you going to (or did you already) preorder the game or wait for (player) reviews?

Edit: I want to clarify that I’m not planning on preordering the game, as for me there’s no point in preordering digital stuff anyway.

It used to make sense with physical copies if one wanted to be able to play on release day, but with a digital product there isn’t really a point.

The only time it makes sense is if something will be legit hard to obtain.

The last time I pre-ordered it was Steel Battalion on Xbox.

True! Or perhaps a preorder bonus (digital).

Are you planning on getting Dragon’s Dogma 2 on release day?

Dunno yet, I really don’t remember the first one. Long story, I had a heart attack after it came out, things are a little… fuzzy… from before that.

I knew for sure I would want this game and preordered it on Steam. I think there is a preorder bonus.

Reading through this thread, I agree that some companies have screwed over gamers with preorders. I don’t like micro transactions, or spending money to play early, or pay to win.

I believe that many big game companies have lost their way because of greed. Some of smaller indy companies have been making great games. Games I want to support.
