I have been using Sync (for rediit) since its early day. During that time, it had a free and paid Pro version. The inrony is, there was no difference between the free and paid version, both have same features and no ads. Anyway, I paid for the Pro, because I was so satisfied and happy using it, and I because want to help the dev. Its been using it for so many years until last month. It was more than worth it.

Now we have sync for lemmy version, I am with no doubt coming back to it. If I can, I will pay for Ultra, but not for this moment - taking into acoout of exchange rate in my country (third world SEA country). Given the chance if I get back living in Europe, II will pay for it.

The ads is not a welcomed feature, but it pales into insignificance, buried by my excitement having back Sync. Sync is not and opensource app - at the end of the day, someone need to pay for bills. I heard they could be an ad-free pro version, but not sure. Maybe you can ask those at Discord. If yes, it could be a much affordable alternative.
