The overworld looks beautiful. The battles look like a PS2 JRPG. It has pedigree, and I hope the gameplay can make up for a lacking presentation for what is a major part of any JRPG, but I’ll wait to see. I’ve been burned more than once with JRPG revival titles.
Based on the artwork and limited gameplay I can see, the 3d sprite/pre-rendered background era of JPGs, like Chrono Cross, FF7-9, Legend of Dragoon, etc.
