The good news is you don’t actually have to know about Asahi, they’re upsteaming all their work. If it’s useful to you, you’ll end up using it without even knowing
It just really winds me up. If I’m going to get caught in the crosshairs of petty drama, especially when I’ve literally only just heard of it, then I’m out. It’s pathetic.
To be fair, I didn’t know the reason - I didn’t read any further than skimming the gist of the text. All I knew was 1. My access is being blocked 2. They are incorrectly assuming I’m from some other site 3. There’s some drama between the two. And finally 4. I’m closing this tab. Those were my thoughts. It took mere seconds for me to lose interest in this distro forever. And it actually sounds cool, as an M1 Macbook owner.
If it is as you say then yeah, that’s not just petty - but my point still stands, this is a fucking stupid way or going about this.
At some point, if people like you are being pushed away from the project, thats an acceptable price to pay for blocking all the harassment. Asahi has existed since the launch of apple ARM, your attitude stinks and it shows.
Who knows what they are using to make that determination. Obviously you need some tweaking. It sounds like you’re reacting somewhat poorly though. Life goes on. There’s other ways that you can see the site if you really want to. Think about it from their perspective.
