I made the switch this past year, and it was relatively painless. I even ran both concurrently for a bit just to make sure I had everything setup correctly.

So far Jellyfin has done everything I had Plex doing - and a bit more because I never paid for the Plex pass.

Only issue I’ve really run into is when ffmeg has an update if the server doesn’t reboot I have to manually reboot it. But I think that might be more an issue with my install (Ubuntu 20.04)

Do you know if Jellyfin allows you to disable idle mode? I know Plex stops after 2.5hrs unless you pay for plex pass. That’s one feature that would motivate me to switch immediately. I’ve meant to switch but I’ve just been kinda lazy and putting it off for months.

It is disabled by default on Jellyfin. I put on Bob’s Burgers for my pets when I’m gonna be gone for more than an hour or two. Plex would stop eventually. Jellyfin goes until I manually stop it.
