  • I think context is key here. If you tell a Jewish joke at a Bar Mitzvah or comedy club it comes across entirely differently than if you tell it at a Skin Head or Proud Boys rally.

He told the this joke at a Trump rally where accusations of racism and facism abound. He was probably trying to be ironic but it just comes off far more serious than just a joke.

Fundamentally a rally should bring people together. The Trump team knew what they were getting when they hired this guy. Whatever this comedians intentions were, the Trump team is ultimately responsible for their message and to refuse to have Trump repudiate him publicly and immediately peaks volumes.

  • FL turned red prior to the post Covid migration due to Obama loosening relations with Cuba.

South Florida voters traditionally provided a counter balance to the Republican dominated North. Post Obama’s detente with Cuba, Florida has gone red in every presidential election because South Florida Cuban expats broke with Dems and were flipped Red.

Cubans in Fl fled their homes in Cuba for a reason and are very anti communist /anti Castro. The rest of the state really doesn’t give a shit about Cuba, they just don’t want illegal immigration.

Dems want to win back Fl or at least put it in play, Republicans want to maintain their edge. Neither party will touch Cuba until there is serious regime change.

This is Cuban expats forcing regimes change in Cuba. The rest of the US doesn’t care.

  • Even BRICs money, like from China, as you state, is beholden to IMF approval.

That is not at all what I stated. China’s loans fall outside of the control of the IMF.

China and the BRICS countries are piloting a new path forward with the attempt to make the world more economically equitable.

Interesting choice of words, China is charting a new path forward by refusing to negotiate debt relief for third world nations and seizing their strategic assets. However it is very much not economically equitable.

As stated before the IMF is not going to negotiate debt relief for these nations as long as China does not do the same. Western countries are not going to take a loss on loans they made to subsidize China’s economic imperialism.

  • Much of Russian oil production is going offline and is never coming back anyways. Since the fall of the USSR they haven’t been training engineers at a rate to maintain their own infrastructure. Many of the engineers they do have are nearing retirement age.

As a result don’t have the technical expertise to maintain their own infrastructure oil fields in Siberia. Those fields require oil to flow constantly otherwise the oil will freeze and expand and burst the pipes. The last time this happened was during the fall of the USSR and those well heads took 20 years to come back online and required Western expertise to repair.

They’ve depended on Western companies to build out and maintain those tracts ever since. When those go well heads go offline either through lack of maintenance or through Ukraine attacking storage centers where this oil is kept before its shipped, they won’t come back on again. They will still have tracts of oil fields in the Western part of the country that they can pump, but they will permanently loose a lot of capacity. Your likely to see a Venezuela style gradual drop off in production over the next ten years if they don’t change course and bring back Western expertise.

It doesn’t really matter to the US, we produce a ton of oil domestically and have been switching over our refineries to process it. Europe, China and India will be the ones to really feel the squeeze when Russian oil goes offline.

  • While I do try to buy direct on some items that I am confident I’ll keep. The return policy and ease of use are why I’m still with Amazon. I just don’t want to have to deal with thirty different companies and their return policies.

But if I’m buying something like replacement parts or something that I’m not sure about if there isn’t significant savings, then I’m going with Amazon for piece of mind that I can return the item at no cost to me.
