Personally I think it is usually easier to buy the expensive locked item if it is a store that has a separate checkout inside since it makes the employees who interacted with you trust you and you can carry it around the rest of the store as “I’m a real customer who already spent a lot of money” flag while you nab the easier items.

Buy something cheap on the way out making a show of “I already paid for these ones earlier” with the locked items using the opportunity to pass through the unpaid items. If you somehow get caught you then use the excuse that you got confused about which items you already bought at the first checkout and again insist on fixing your mistake by paying for the ones you missed.

Shop at casual pace. Be nice to the store employees but don’t try to keep track of where they are (because it’s obvious when you do). Do not be greedy.

Store employees see people stealing or at least people who look like they’re stealing everyday but will generally only confront those who are either stealing high quantity/value of stuff, steal at that store frequently or are annoying to the employees in some way (are rude, noisy, cause hold ups or make work by leaving stuff around or making demands).

If you ever get confronted then it was an oversight and you ask to pay for whatever it was (because you want the item, not because you were caught). You do not try to defend yourself as not stealing, why would you? the very idea of stealing has never occurred to you in your entire life.

It’s always real people. The reason they are allowed to spam you is because it is considered the “freedom of speech” of the person sending the text. The opening text however is a prewritten form text that the person just spam clicked send on. Any additional back and forth will be with a person who will try to follow a script but sometimes will engage with you if your questions don’t fit closely enough to their stock replies. If you come off too hostile or uninterested though they will just remove you from the list.

I don’t even know or care enough to check if this was even F1 but I recall an episode of Dirty Money about a guy who ran a telemarketing scam operation who basically became a top F1 driver on the basis that he could afford to spend the millions on owning a car and having time to practice. The entire sport is just a pay to win hobby for millionaires with an incredibly shallow pool of talent.

Excellent development. I recall a few people wanting to set up another instance that federated only with hexbear to allow for a safe space but this is a much less convoluted way to achieve that. Just need a user setting to whitelist instances allowed to send private messages now.

Still adventurism. They are profitable with the incredible market power of Disney behind them. Would you as an independent film maker bet the farm on an adaption of 70 year old disney film? There is a possibility but you’d have to have a premise with a damn good angle on it to have a chance and I don’t begrudge the industry for not taking that swing yet.
