Biden isn’t the only person on the ballot, and the reason progressives have zero representation is cuz ya’ll never show up to fucking vote outside of a general election.

This exact same attitude is why Trump won in 2016, that’s the fucking reality of a two party ‘first past the post’ voting system.

So if you actually gave a fuck about our government funding genocides, which isn’t anything new if you’d bother to pay attention to anything past what’s spoon feed to you on social media, then you’d understand voting is the only real power we have as citizens to exact change, and abstaining from it allows others to decide for you.

Cuz clearly all those abortion protests and people bombing clinics are the reason Roe v Wade was rolled back, surely can’t be because republicans consistently voted in representation that openly said they would stack the courts in their favor and got what they fucking wanted. Nah that’s stupid.

I wouldn’t go that far to say it’s just 7 congress members. I primarily believe we’re that close due to the structure of our government. It favors the will of the minority(population wise) party(currently 1 step away from pure naked fascism) and all that’s needed is a small amount of 'bipartisan-ism" to achieve their goals while preventing the majority(population wise) party from implementing any of their agenda.

I’m familiar with the quote, that’s why I didn’t think it was applicable to the entire democratic party. You could definitely argue the point when it comes to the factions within the party that carry the fascists water for them under the guise of bipartisanship, but that’s also why I used quotes around normal conservative. Since I would say we are 10 years( probably much less) from that ‘moderate wing of fascism’ being a wholly accurate description of the party.

Well we got here because Republicans have a locked in voting block who votes for them no matter what in primaries/general elections, which has resulted in our slow descent into fascist policies.

There absolutely should be protests and other forms of political action, but progressives constantly finding reasons to abstain from voting is exactly why we’re in the political climate we find ourselves in.

Being present during every election and voting for progressive candidates at the state level is the only way to get us out of this long term. If that wasn’t the case, the fascists wouldn’t be constantly trying to induce apathy by convincing people voting is pointless/rigged.

Nah, it’s just the result of not having a true liberal/progressive party. As it stands, the current democratic party is more comparable to ‘normal’ conservative parties in progressive countries than anything resembling a sane liberal party.

Sure, but the reality of the situation is that the guy running against Biden thinks we’re not killing Palestinians fast enough, while Biden at least verbally condemns Israels extreme response.

Empty words considering his actions, but those actions have been the de-facto response the US Govt. has taken with Israel for over 50 years.

It’s a shit spot to be in, like most things in America, but acting like voting against Biden/democrats will produce anything in progressives favor is extremely naive…to say the least.
