No, I was worried that if I started before that there might be changes that would be difficult to hide.

There are non-Marxist socialisms and socialists that wouldn’t call themselves communists.
China would have a massive upper-hand by as the entire country is on Beijing time, so I’m all for it.
I remember it pretty distinctly. While I was an arch-conservative shit up until high school, by the end of high school/undergrad I identified as an unironic social democrat. It was the pathetic Democrat/liberal response to the murder of Michael Brown and Ferguson protests, and the subsequent Black Lives Matter movement, that led to me to some sort of communist belief. I would say the next big push was the histrionic lib/lib-left response to Jan 6th, which again pushed me from a wishy-washy compatible leftist to a more principled Marxist-Leninist belief system.
I was dragging my feet, fretting about insurance and starting HRT before visiting my parents this Christmas, but I decided that it’s time to schedule an appointment for an HRT consult. It’s on the 18th!
Damn, the period right after federation went active was so good for posting.
I know that I helped get us de-fedded from pawb by making a version of the Grover (of Groverhaus game) Iraq war copypasta in reference to Blahaj Zone. I’m sure there were other incidents, but I remember that my post was cited specifically.
Independently of the federal election results, “anti-DEI” measures passed by the state legislature means that my university LGBT center is going to effectively be shuttered. The center won’t be closed entirely, but it won’t be allowed to put on its own events, so that is going to put more burden on LGBT student groups and degrade LGBT resources for the university as a whole.
It’d be scenarios for Delta Green/Call of Cthulhu, facing off against an occult conspiracy embedded in the anti-communist White Russian/international fascist movement that threatens both the revolution and humanity as a whole. It would be for personal use mainly, and the idea was to outline a campaign that could be run with hexbears or other likeminded folks. The extant CoC scenarios that take place in the 1920s/1930s USSR are of course full of anti-communist brainworms, so I wanted to write something with a more realistic/pro-communist take. For that, I need to identify better sources, as a lot of the more popular English-language books on the period are obviously propaganda.
I am interested in writing some TRPG scenarios set in the early USSR (1920s and 30s.) What do folks recommend for history books that aren’t full of anti-communist propaganda or brainworms?
Finally found the time to do some of the thrifting I wanted to do. I got some women’s jeans to try on (hopefully they fit. If not, I’ll at least know how to size up/down) as well as some jewelry.
In an not particularly gender related note, also picked up a print copy of the Borealis Connection campaign for The Fall of Delta Green trpg. Not sure if I would want to run it with the FoDG Gumshoe system (which is fiddly but neat) or with the regular d100 Delta Green system, but this sort of late 60s conspiracy thriller is something that I’ve wanted to run for a while.
Yeah, it’s not like that’s ever happened before…
Perhaps. Senators really like the filibuster since it gives each one of them a lot more individual power. They’ll probably just remove it as needed for their high priority areas.
Bankrupting Intel because Congress takes away their absurd subsidies before actually disbursing the funds would be a hilarious own goal.
He can certainly undo standing executive orders that prevent discrimination against LGBT people by federal agencies and federally funded private entities. His justice department will do little/nothing to contest state-level anti-LGBT legislation. I don’t think it’s particularly likely, but it’s possible that the GOP Congress passes legislation banning gender affirming care for minors.
Lol, I thought this was the last election.
Definitely feeling like a 2016 repeat.
I have now lost two handheld mirrors in the past week from trying to hang them in the shower with suction cup hooks.
