Hello @[email protected],
our registration application system is completely automated and we’re making it very clear on our signup page what text you need to provide in order for your application to be approved.
Additionally, you should have received an email about your registration being rejected within a minute of verifying your email. Unfortunately your application fell within a window of these notifications being broken on our end, as we had to fix some stuff following our recent Lemmy update. Other users will generally receive this notification when their application is rejected.
As you explained why you’d want to sign up on lemmy.world rather than entering the required text your application had been denied. Our application processing system is also purging accounts from the database when the application gets rejected, so the username is available again and you’ll be able to sign up again with the same name.
the community [email protected] only allows posts without a language set (aka undetermined).
this is a community setting.
i don’t think you have any understanding of what ech is.
regardless, we didn’t do any changes to images today.
there was an issue with image uploads, that should be fixed now.
can you please be more specific and provide an example showing what you’re referring to?
we’re still investigating some performance issues due to one of the lemmy processes hammering our CPU :/
in short form, we have HAproxy running on a hetzner cloud VM for Lemmy/Lemmy-UI, another HAproxy VM for the alt UIs, a VM for the alt UIs.
for the main LW box, which runs lemmy containers, lemmy-ui, pictrs and a database each for lemmy and pictrs, we have a physical box with an EPYC 7502P 32 core CPU, 128GB memory and NVMe SSDs.
considering that we’re coming from 0.19.3, this does still introduce quite a few bigger changes for LW.
this will be fixed by the upcoming lemmy update iirc.
if they keep doing so one-sided, especially after being told not to do so, please report them via @[email protected].
there are various mentioned in [email protected], the main one i was referring to was the one where in some cases posts in local communities won’t show comments.
partial breakage, the stuff that people on other instances have already been experiencing for a while.
iirc there are still some additional issues with sync arising with the update, but it won’t be entirely broken.
at this point i don’t know what people are even talking about, anyone signing up since saturday should get an email if their account was denied.
it’s also impressive how many people can’t follow simple instructions.
reddit blocks data center IPs, therefore fetching the page title automatically doesn’t work
if the page doesn’t show anything that indicates that the verification isn’t valid anymore.
this can be the result of trying to verify after 7 days have passed (currently hardcoded limit in lemmy) or when the email has already been verified.
I don’t have a reddit account ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
feel free to forward this information to them
this is now implemented
we’re currently implementing an update to our automatic approval script to send email notifications for rejected applications, previously those accounts were just silently deleted. that should go live this weekend.
most likely this person either used a disposable email or didn’t type the correct text in the application form.
the domain on the link you shared was previously used by spam bots
yes it is an instance ban: https://sh.itjust.works/u/[email protected] https://sh.itjust.works/modlog?page=1&actionType=All&userId=14537229
nobody from SJW will see this post, as you’re currently banned from their instance. mentions of their admins in this thread won’t work, nor will any of your pms make it over there.
you were also banned by our LW automod for a minute until i reversed it: https://lemmy.world/modlog?page=1&userId=10371316
I’ve shared this thread directly with SJW admins on other channels for a review.
we’re aware of this issue and already looking into it
