A handjob is still a job, okay?
I ain’t got nothin better to do so might as well run a server forever
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Just got around to watching this. Love your fuck around and find out attitude! Fuck instagram for not knowing quality content.
Fasttech.com TOTALLY would have sold the vibrator soldering vape lmao.
Although I won’t be making any sex toys out of my vapes… I’m wiring some of them up to an DIY ebike before heading out on a 400+ mile 9 day trip in ~2 weeks, a DIY ebike that I haven’t finished yet… I have no idea what the hell I’m doing with them (or even the bike really), but I’ve got a GoPro, knock-off GoPro, and a drone that’ll be capturing the trip with. As well as all the dabs and ball vapes hit along the way.
you should see how many of these big servers were (and still are) running their instances as ‘root’…
I specifically stopped trying to grow my instance to focus on security and sysadmin back-end administrative infrastructure.
or… lemmy hates .gifs?
idk ugh.
ya know, it’s not hard to setup a totally independent instance on the same hypervisor as another.
I have servers, you have people, we could make independent lemmy instances on my two Dell R720xd and one Dell R730xd servers. They’re not overloaded with people like lemmy.world yet, that would put way way more stress on that server.
That’s what this Dell PowerEdge I’m posting on is for
The dynacoil is a pain to clean IMO.
What @Loki said is def the way to do it 100%, works in all herb vapes for the most part too.
We’ve been testing the same bot that https://lemmit.online/ used to initially create communities and import some content.
The bot is off, i’d rather keep it off and humans post instead.
nopeee
Ooohh I’ll pull this one into my instance
raises hand
Might even be in a silent server specs race with @[email protected].
TheDude just doesn’t know it yet, and neither does my checking account.
As official as it gets lol.
I’m one of the mods, have a stickied post on this with a link at the end. Just haven’t made a separate official post about it yet.
BeyondCombustion.net has been our wiki, formerly at github.io, for the last few years.
Decided to point that domain at some dell R720xd/R730xd boxes I picked up and setup a whole new entry into the fediverse, along with a number of other things for our users.
Hey @[email protected]! I think we may be on the same side of the fence with a lot of this. I just got my server online, but I’m self hosting with a couple old Dell R720xds and R730xds so I’ve got you matched in the hardware department at least :-)
Hopefully in this for the long haul and want to help collaborate with other communities and contribute to the development as much as I’m able.
currently, I selfhost https://beyondcombustion.net and now https://lemmy.beyondcombustion.net for /r/vaporents and hopefully others. There’s other stuff I self host too, this is the fun new stuff though.
removing it completely is a bit extreme
my server is just me currently… but it’s got 100GB of RAM and 30CPUs so i kicked my value up to 200k but this shit (the fediverse) is still slow as hell/doesn’t sync with most other servers because their specs are so low. People need to stop running them on $4 VPS shit boxes.
lmao, literally offered you all the same thing.
on better hardware, in a more secure environment.
Didn’t get a response.
