  • That’s because bellingcat want to convince everyone AI image fakes are really common and hard to spot when actually they’re pretty easy to spot these days and tend to only appeal to the already converted since as soon as you show someone something they disagree with, they don’t just change their minds they actually immediately seek to debunk it because that’s the lighter mental load.

Bellingcat don’t actually need to convince you deepfakes are a real thing because deepfakes are not a real problem. Their true desire is the ability to denounce even photographic evidence of atrocities as fake when it’s convenient for them to straight up deny reality.

  • The thing I hate most about Reddit is the way the upvote thing really drives a false sense of consensus.

These sites would be better without them. Let comments stand on their own merits.

The upvote / downvote thing is simply a way for the dominant view to assert itself but what’s the use of a website that just feeds you the dominant view all the time? Literally a circle jerk.

These libs all love Noam Chomsky but I dare them to actually read his work on manufacturing consent.

They also love to cite 1984 as their favorite book because it was assigned reading in school while literally not realizing the Telescreen was a symbol of the media controlling and policing thought the dumb fucks.
