  • I occasionally use Revolut for their one time use disposable virtual cards. It’s a nice app and a feature that’s included in the free standard plan. Only problem I’ve had is sometimes the card will be rejected because the vendor thinks it’s a reloadable card (presume that’s how it’s implemented behind the scenes), so for subscriptions and such it’s not accepted on occasion. The virtual card rotates to a new card once it’s been used. I more frequently use Monzo plus. Works slightly differently, they allow you to create up to 5 virtual cards, which you can reuse, or use once, delete the card and then create a new one. Monzo plus is £15 a month, so depends if you value their other features. Never used privacy.com but as I understood it, it’s more like monzo plus, but without the 5 card limit.

  • I’ll be heartbroken if Argos goes the same way. It really is so useful for those sort “I need this item today at a reasonable price” items. It often competes with Amazon on prices, and I have a reloadable gift card through work that provides a modest discount making it my go to for most purchases. My local Argos is in Saintsbury which a lot of them seem to be now and it appears to work well as a relationship.
