Playing a lot of Diablo IV, but that game is sort of winding down for me. Looking forward to ExileCon and the next Path of Exile league. Probably will pick up FFXVI and need to finish Jedi Survivor.

It is an extremely compelling rpg. Takes the stance of effectively starting you as the villain… but also gives you the responsibility of determining if you stay that way. It’s relatively short but has a pretty wide branching narrative that leads to some wildly different outcomes. So this gives you a lot of replayability.
I figure it is a good game for the folks who tend to engage with an ARPG long enough to beat the campaign and then move on. For the folks who play them as a hobby… it isn’t long before the wheels start to fall off.
I talked about some of my feelings the other day in rambly 20 min video form. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcxkkNAcXqg
There are a number of really good changes that are going to happen, but I still sorta feel like the design vision for the game they wanted to create does not match up to the game I want to play. Diablo is about killing hordes of demons while listening to jangly chords. The mob density, resource generation, and long cooldown issues are really what is standing in the way of this game being much better. I also cannot fathom doing the renown grind every season…
