Loglevel was at 7 before changing, systemd-analyze also seems to have an error with counting firmware on startup which seems to be the case with others as well. Aside from changing to a static address, I disabled a service that was waiting for eth0 which did not exist.

  • I didn’t think about military surplus stores. There seems to be some items that people really enjoy, like the army poncho liners or old ammo canisters for containers.

I’ve been looking for a genuine army poncho liner but can only find knock offs online and cant find a reputable surplus store online if it exists

  • I got an airpod cleaning multi tool from Amazon and it actually works really well.

Also if you have the Sony xm1004, they have little foam bits in them and over the years they get soaked up with sweat and earwax, it’s really gross. So if you think your sound is super quiet and have earbuds with foam inserts, first use some tweezers and something to gently squeeze out the foam and clean with isopropyl alcohol.

  • I don’t have much experience with Plex, but if you can map the buttons in autohotkey you may be able to set it up to perform certain tasks in Plex. Also for consideration you should look into getting a small NAS setup with raid 5 in order to keep your media safe in case of a drive failure.

Being offline should not be a problem as long as devices are on the same local network.

I appreciate the big response, and definitely have to look into compiling and the build process, using git, more terminal centric applications, etc. I’ve seen that there is a distro to learn Linux that comes in stages, I don’t know what it’s called off the top of my head.

Setting flags does seem very annoying, it’s hard for me to keep track of programs and settings already.
