Similar but I started in Lemmy.ml. Then found programming.dev.
3·1 year agoYou got a link to a good guide for understanding the ins and outs of Usenet? I torrented a lot in the mid to late 2000s but then stopped. Working on building up my collection again. Was looking into Usenet. Found a couple free indexers and got NZBGet. But nothing would download. Figured out the other day I needed a provider in addition to the indexer.
So like basics… you pay for a provider. Then you get/paid for indexers and link those to the provider, then you can download stuff with NZBGet?
Normally I would have searched for guides like that in Reddit, but yeah….
1·1 year agoI set up mine shortly after cancelling Netflix after the last price increase about a year ago.
Repurposed an old Raspberry Pi 3 that had been a Kodi setup. Added a spare 2TB PS4 external HD. Been working great the last year. But looking to get an actual NAS setup to replace paying for google photos (my wife), more Plex storage, and a python dev server. That’ll run my about $900 though.
The Pi3 with the PS4 HD was less than $130.
I was an English major. Wanted to tell stories. Did film production and a few novels. Now I tell stories with data and build automations.
