Mine’s a fully digital one but they have animations on the sides that give that sort of feedback… Without it, though, yeah, I think it would make me feel more disconnected from driving, which isn’t exactly a good thing

And on top of that, at any moment, they (Tesla) can remove pretty much any feature they feel like in a push update, which they have done… Personally, I think removing existing features from already sold products should be illegal, flat out

The Civic’s split dash was apparently generally hated, but I really liked it, for just that reason… The year after mine they switched it back to a single cluster, which I think is unfortunate

On my vehicle, those type of controls are moved to the steering wheel

Same, did a rebuild of my PC when I cannibalized my old one into a media server (really only kept the drives, so not really more like just built a new one…), bought two nvme drives for it with the intent to put Linux on the first and Windows on the second, but held off on putting Windows onto it to force myself to stick with it until I got a real sense for what I’d need it for…

A couple months later I decided I’d just use that second drive for more storage. Hasn’t run Windows once in over ten months of use and I’ve yet to miss it.

Only took me sixteen or eighteen years of saying I’m going to switch to actually do it…

I did not know you could do that… It’s a great usability feature, and they probably ditched it because nobody uses it, because nobody knows about it, because they’ve done precisely nothing to help people find it

Well, it’s still working on mine for personal email, I hope they don’t kill it off entirely, but I’ve lost hope googie will ever stop destroying good user experiences in favor of shittier ones that have less functionality (I’m still pissed about Inbox and Play Music)

One is the username, the other is the display name. The client can show either of them. Mine (Thunder) let’s you configure that.
