Please check here on how to contribute to the bug hunt:
You can follow the effort here to squish the bug once and for all.
If you got the issue and want to send your logs etc check the comment a bit down
As 0.8.3b did not fix the issue for all users we will do a minor patch of 0.8.4b that should move the folders correctly to retrodeck/ES-DE/ and force set the correct path in ES_Config.
The 0.8.0b branch is still on the old manifest and it is a bit unwieldy to debug and we are making changes to our testing routines and the tester user program.
In some more positive news for @everyone. As soon as we got this fixed we will post our blogpost for August detailing some of the work we have done during the summertime (the new manifest).
There is https://github.com/ShadowBlip/OpenGamepadUI/
As well.
RetroDECK uses ES-DE but don’t support native games yet, so pure ES-DE is better for this.
There is a second bug affecting users scraped data, we recommend everyone to wait for 0.8.3b
We are doing a tiny refresh of 0.8.2b as it pulled the -64 version of Dolphin and not -68. If you already downloaded it will show up again in Discover at 0.8.2b
It’s the spot we choose on the empty canvas for the RetroDECK logo.
But as a DM myself I hope we can both coexist.
The RetroDECK Team loves D&D and TRPGs
How about Gitea?
I agree, mistakes and vulnerabilites happen in all software commercial and open. Now I can only speak for RetroDECK but, we also make mistakes and need to do minor patches to fix those.
I think Jorge and the team handled it as you should: Be transparent, inform on all channels they can and learn from your mistakes.
Me personally have full confidence in them.
Those that try to hide or shift blame of mistakes are a bigger red flag in my book.
Jorge, Kyle and the others over at ublue is doing a great job with their Fedora spins.
I run Bazzite on all my computers and if you got a full AMD system you can even get full gamemode running by installing the deck image. This in turn give you the best controller experience for games, as Desktop Steam got several issues with Steam Input valve have not fixed yet.
But not all credit should go to them for this but also ChimeraOS team, Nobara and others that are constantly working on an improved gaming experience on Linux.
When developing RetroDECK Steam Input profiles I mainly use the Steam Deck with SteamOS and Bazzite on my desktop to test them.
A big problem is that the elderly are those getting scammed the most. The elderly have been punished for bank usage every step on the way by the banks that wants nothing more then to cut costs. The banks removed all types of services the elderly population where using. Cash bill payments, cash investment, cash withdrawal/deposit and general handling of cash.
They also made their ID verification extremely unsecure with their property Bank ID solution and did nothing for a decade to make any effort to make it remotely safe to use (until this May of 2024 where you need to scan a QR code next to you with a pin).
All the scammers needed to do was call the elderly say it they where from the bank and ask them to input their pin on the phone to transfer everything they ever had out of their account.
Many of the elderly are tech-illiterate and don’t understand and some even have problems with a normal debit card.
The banks always pointed the blame towards those they removed the services from. Made unsecure solutions that they did not understand all for the sake of vast profits.
As some other user said mugging might be down because it was easier for the criminals to not only steal some few cash from a mugging but everything you ever saved for an entire life with tiny scams.
Depends on the context of the setting and the story. I mostly tend to allow all official PC races without any objection. I see an adventurer as an outlier of society and not the norm.
In the games I tend to run I either swing between everything is allowed or just one is allowed.
If I want to do an mini adventure about a goblin clan fighting a kobold incursion, then everyone is playing goblins.
Happy Birthday
It is the version that ships with RetroArch so it got all the features of that.
But it is based on an older version of Citra so there no hotkey support and the performance is not as good.
But it is also the only version we can ship.
The Ponzu feature can be used to load legacy versions of removed emulators without support.
RetroDECK setting new standards for all! I do have a new type of song in mind for 0.9.0b in the future :)
