Yes! I first noticed the moving goalposts in the early 2000’s when I was working part time through school. The managers would say to us, “We’ve broken our record for the quarter, good job everyone! Next quarter we need to break this record” and I wondered why couldn’t “good enough” be “good enough”? Rinse and repeat at every business over the next 20 years. It really is never enough and I just don’t know where it will all end.
