  • Time for a lawsuit.

Since the presence of a TV in your house is a commercial benefit for the companies who make them, AND you do not actually have control over them, it is clear that the ‘sales contract’ was fraudulent and part of a bad-faith act on the manufacturers’ part.

So I say a class-action lawsuit is in order: Each person who bought (say) an LG TV gets back 100% of their purchase price, plus some reimbursement for being spied on - probably a per-month amount. Then LG has to pay a punitive fee on top of their payouts to customers.

I know that everyone is screaming “that will never work!” and “They’ll go bankrupt!” I don’t care - SOMETHING has to change to remind these evil fuckers that they need our business, or the abuse will just ramp up.

Bankrupt them all. Tear down the entire industry. Tear down the entire economy and start again from scratch if that’s what it takes.

If they can’t be reined in legally, then it will happen illegally - and probably violently.

  • There absolutely will not be.

The intent is to be able to go out, round up the homeless in vans, and toss them into a ‘treatment’ centre. Taking street drugs is inherently dangerous, and so if you’re using, you’re eligible. If it turns out that you’re clean but have untreated mental health issues, then you’ll get held against your will for the safety of those around you.

I mean, they might as well start tracking these people by tattooing them - maybe with a bar code on their wrist.

  • I like 'em, but I’m not convinced.

a massive swing away from corporate smell along with popular pro-labor rhetoric and actions

Corporations - which are already pretty damned conservative - will back the CPC with ten times the money if this happens. It would be lovely, but would guarantee a Poilievre win.

    electoral reform without stepping down

That will prevent the CPC (or anyone else) from securing a majority in the next election, but I don’t think it’ll win the election for him.

Jagmeet introducing electoral reform in the current parliament, Trudeau supporting it

Ah, now that’s interesting! I like this one quite a bit.

At the end of the day, I honestly don’t believe Trudeau can win another election under any reasonable circumstances. The best he can do is stack the deck in the party’s favour, and then step down.

  • Come on BC, pitting us against you is exactly the way they accumulate more power.

John Rustad doesn’t believe that COVID is a serious disease, regrets his COVID vaccine (sorry, “so-called vaccine”), supports anti-LGBTQ2+ agendas, doesn’t believe in climate change, and…has a good shot of being your next premier.

You’re in the same boat as us - christofascists controlling the narrative, then controlling the government, then the media, then our bodies and our lives. By lashing out at “stupid redneck Albertans” you’re wasting effort that should be spent taking down the people pushing this narrative. Meanwhile, we’re wasting effort defending ourselves (and counterattacking), instead of … that’s right - taking down the people pushing this narrative.

BC and Alberta together. And Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, the other four provinces and three territories - we need to STAND TOGETHER AGAINST FASCISM, and not let them drive wedges between us.

    Solidarity.

  • I think he still has one chance - which he almost certainly won’t take.

Announce that he’ll step down when this term is up, and immediately hold a short leadership race, with the new leader vying for a brand new PM position.

To sweeten the pot, he could toss in proper PR electoral reform. It would throw cabinet into chaos, but the Greens and NDP would probably support it; and Trudeau would go down in history with the likes of Tommy Douglas as someone who fundamentally changed Canada for the better.

But his ego is too big for the first item, and the party is too scared to let him pull off the second.

So we’re likely stuck with a fucking Christofascist neo-Nazi for our next PM.

  • Fucking garbage article and headline.

Here’s one for you: “Poilievre’s non-confidence motion falls flat in parliament.”

    Or perhaps…

“Conservatives fail to force favourable election schedule.”

    Or maybe something simple:

    “Christofascist takeover bid fails.”

I’m not a big fan of Trudeau - ESPECIALLY since he fucking reneged on electoral reform - but compared to the fuckwits in the CPC, I’ll hold my nose and support him.

(In reality, I’m in such a tory-blue riding that I’ll probably vote Green, because my MP will still get 70% of the popular vote).
